The luggage handler didn't get my sisters bags from their room at the lodge. We had one snafu with our luggage upon our return to Peoria. Again, plenty of food, drink and entertainment. Even though it was a rainy day we enjoyed ourselves. The next morning we had breakfast at the lodge, which is included in the cruise price,Then we left our luggage in our room and got back on the trolley for the boat ride to Peoria. After that we enjoy the story telling of "Mark Twain" with a performance of impersonator Bob Anton. After we arrived we quickly went on a guided hike with Brian "Fox" Ellis. Our room at the Lodge(included with the cruise price) was small but with two double beds. Trolleys were waiting to take us to the Lodge. Shortly after dinner we arrived at Starved Rock. Dinner time came quickly upon us and was excellent! Prime rib, red potatoes, salad, rolls. Entertainment is abundant with the excellent banjo musician/singer and songwriter Barry Cloyd, Excellent storytelling, river and folk lore by Brian "Fox" Ellis and the rag-time piano playing of Ken Bradbury. Your choice of wine is available, along with delicious cheeses,crackers/meats. Mid afternoon a wine and cheese snack in served.

free soft drinks and coffee/tea and lemonade are available all day long. Quickly came lunch with build your own sandwich which consisted of varying breads, deli meats, toppings and condiments. We were welcomed with a delicious breakfast (yes, we ate again) of bacon, scrambled eggs, fruit salad, pastries, juice, coffee, etc.,After breakfast we went to the top deck and looked at the beautiful scenery along the Illinois River as we cruised toward Starved Rock. Our luggage was waiting in our room when we got to the Lodge. The luggage gets taken to the Lodge at Starved Rock by van and not the boat. The next morning we had breakfast at the hotel and then drove to the dock park the car free and handed over our luggage to the Spirit of Peoria people. Staybridge Suites was clean and quiet.nice hotel to stay in. So glad we took the plunge! The night before the cruise we stayed at the Staybridge Suites, 2 bedroom, 2 bath, in downtown Peoria and had dinner at Joe's Crab Shack on the Riverfront. I have lived in Peoria for many years and have heard of this boat but never looked into it. My 3 sisters and I take an annual three or four day trip somewhere in the Midwest.
